The Tampa Bay Automobile Museum is excited to welcome Alan Glenn as Master Mechanic and Service Director, bringing decades of hands-on automotive experience, technical expertise and a deep passion for engineering history to the museum and Cerf Motorworks.

Alan is a third-generation automotive professional with a lifelong passion for engineering and performance vehicles. His love for cars started early. By the time he was 12 years old, he was already helping friends build cars. In high school, he pursued automotive mechanics and electrical training, laying the foundation for a career dedicated to the automotive industry.

Over the years, Alan became factory trained and certified with Honda / Acura, Harley-Davidson and Mercedes-Benz, while also earning his ASE Master Technician Certification. His experience spans everything from modern luxury and performance vehicles to some of the world’s most historic automobiles.

Alan spent nearly eight years specializing in antique Rolls-Royce and Bentley vehicles, along with other classic marques including Jaguar, Porsche, Ferrari, Franklin Automobile Company and many more. One of his favorite projects was working on and test driving the Saleen S7. His career has allowed him to work on vehicles ranging from a 1915 Rolls-Royce to a 2026 Mercedes-Maybach.

For the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum, Alan’s experience is especially valuable. The museum collection is filled with vehicles that represent bold engineering ideas, rare mechanical designs and unusual solutions from different eras of automotive history. Maintaining these vehicles requires more than standard mechanical knowledge. It takes patience, curiosity and an appreciation for the engineering choices that made each machine unique.

When asked what made him want to join the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum, Alan said:

“The museum’s collection is especially meaningful to me because it showcases true engineering marvels. That passion for innovation, craftsmanship and automotive history is what excites me every day, and it is truly an honor to work on and maintain these incredible machines.”

Alan’s role also connects directly to the launch of Cerf Motorworks, the museum’s automotive repair and restoration service now open to the public. Cerf Motorworks brings the same level of care and technical attention used to maintain the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum collection to classic, vintage and specialty vehicles from outside the museum.

With Alan’s experience in both modern and historic automobiles, Cerf Motorworks is positioned to support owners who want knowledgeable repair, restoration and preservation work handled with respect for the vehicle’s history and engineering.

We are proud to welcome Alan Glenn to the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum and Cerf Motorworks, and we look forward to sharing more about the work being done behind the scenes to preserve these incredible machines for future generations.
