The Tampa Bay Automobile Museum recently had the pleasure of bringing one of its most unusual automobiles to the Hot Wheels event in Pinellas Park: the one-of-a-kind 2008 Arex Super Coupe Roadster.

The event brought together kids, families, collectors and car lovers for a day centered around creativity, design and the joy of automobiles. With its bold shape, open roadster styling and futuristic presence, the Arex was a natural crowd favorite. Visitors stopped to take photos, ask questions and get a closer look at a car unlike anything else on the road.

The Arex Super Coupe Roadster was designed and engineered by David J. Stollery, whose career stretched far beyond automobile design. Before becoming an industrial designer, Stollery was known as a child actor in Disney’s Spin and Marty serials. He later studied at the Art Center College of Design, worked with General Motors and helped Toyota establish CALTY Design Research, Toyota’s influential U.S. design studio. His work also included experimental vehicles, industrial design projects and even fiberglass lifeguard towers still seen on beaches today.

You can see the 2008 Arex Super Coupe Roadster, along with many more rare and innovative vehicles, at the Tampa Bay Automobile Museum in Pinellas Park. Come explore the engineering, history and creativity behind some of the most fascinating automobiles ever built.
